Introduction

We take user privacy very seriously and have implemented various safeguards to ensure the confidentiality of your data. We do not have access to your inbox; our access is limited to your email address, labels, and basic settings. Our security measures include data encryption at rest and field-level encryption for sensitive data. We maintain a strict policy against sharing any user data with third parties.

We currently offer our services free of charge to users while we test the add-on and continuously improve the application and user experience. We may consider adding paid features in the future as we grow.

Required Information

For clarity, the information we require for proper functionality is limited to:

• The subject line and sender of the emails you open
• Your labels
• Your basic settings
• Your email address (used solely for saving your preferences)

Our add-on does not enable email forwarding.

Google Gemini

If you choose to use the Google Gemini feature:

• We will only send the subject line and sender of the emails you open to Google Gemini
• We will never include any Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
• Data sent to Google Gemini will not be used to train its models

Data Usage and Access

The CleanUpGmail™ extension requires access to your Gmail to clean up your emails based on your specified query criteria. Here's how we use your data:

• We only use your query criteria to filter emails that need to be cleaned
• We use the Gmail API to delete or archive matching emails
• We do not access or store your email content except when necessary for cleanup operations (e.g., retrieving email IDs for deletion)
• We do not use your Gmail data for any other purposes such as advertising, analytics, or sharing with third parties
• We implement industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption for data transmission
• We follow the principle of least privilege, requesting only the minimum permissions required for functionality

Data Retention and Deletion

To facilitate the reuse of common cleanup rules, our extension stores user-created query criteria within your Google Workspace ecosystem:

• Query criteria are associated with your Google account and protected by Google Workspace's data security and privacy measures
• When you choose to uninstall or remove the extension from Google Workspace, all stored query criteria will be immediately and permanently deleted from your Google Workspace account
• We do not maintain any backups or copies of your data
• You can request data deletion at any time by emailing help@cleanupgmail.com
• Data deletion requests will be processed within 30 days

Once deleted, data cannot be recovered. You can also revoke our access at any time through your Google Account settings.

Google Policy Disclosure

CleanUpGmail™'s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
